Hello again, And welcome back to TenPaths Tarot. Today we have a very intriguing message. I actually love it when there’s an interesting dynamic in the cards and the reading is a little more complicated; it makes me have to really look, think, and channel.
And so we start off with the oracle card, and that’s Intuition. And this woman is holding a hare. And a hare has a sixth sense about when to cut their losses; when to give up that clover they see in the field and get themselves to safety—when to leave temptation behind. And this is an important message for someone.
But there is a lot of temptation on the current path. And I am also getting the message that, for some of you, this message is not about you, but about someone who is close to you. That may be why the first card in the recent past is The Lovers. The Lovers isn’t always about romantic love. It can be, or it can just represent a relationship with someone who is very important to us. It can also refer to a relationship with something that is very important to us–something that we want to be in harmony with.
So we start out with The Lovers, and then the next card is a little ominous. It’s the Wheel of Fortune. And when I look at the expression in the figure’s face, I’m not sure I trust her. We don’t know where this wheel is going to turn. We are gambling on it. For some people, this may represent actual gambling, but it can mean a willingness or tendency to take chances.. And in this particular reading, these chances could be riskier than we thought they would be.
So we had this chance of things moving in our direction, but then we had a Tower moment. So there was a big change in either your material life or in your way of thinking. Something changed dramatically. And I want to say that it was our way of thinking. The reason being, the final card in the recent energy is the Hanged Man. The Hanged Man means looking at things from a different perspective. And this figure is grasping for a pot of gold; while the fairy (Spirit’s spokesman) is warning, “Don’t! Leave that pot of gold alone. Don’t go there. It’s not worth it. You’re going to hurt yourself.”
So something made you think differently, and led you to thinking that what you wanted was that pot of gold. Now I’m not going to say material wealth is bad, but let’s see what happens on this particular path. Because currently there seems to be a cautionary tone to this reading.
Next we have The Chariot. This is ambitious forward movement. This is a tendency to see everything is either/or. We’re not seeing the gray area. And that is always a problem |in these readings–when we only see things as either/or, black or white, nothing in between.
The next card out is again The Lovers. Now here we have two equally strong people. So again, we could have that either/or. We could want to partner with someone or something that we are envisioning as being that thing which will make us whole.
The next card out is the Knight of Pentacles. Knights move forward, sometimes impulsively. They take action no matter what the consequences. And in this card, we see the devil in the background. And what does he have? He has gold coins, like those that that hanged man grasped for. And the woman in the foreground is looking at the things she could produce, and envisioning great wealth. The devil indicates that direction isn’t going to get you that pot of gold, but it will wear you out. It will make you compromise yourself. It will injure you. You are going to behave toward others in ways that may be hurtful. Because this dream of this pot of gold is compromising everything right now. It’s not necessarily greed. It is ambition. It’s extreme ambition–ambition on overdrive. I wonder what’s going to be left, though, on this path.
Usually at the end of a reading we get a cautionary card. But in this case, the whole message is cautionary. You are on a dangerous path, and it is advising you to be like the hare, and know when to get yourself out of danger. Someone or something is luring you in with false promises. They know how to push your buttons, and they’ve become very good at that. It could be a significant other, since we have two Lovers cards, but it could be a business partner or a situation. Something is luring you in the wrong direction.
And so instead of a cautionary card, Spirit gave you two cards of advice. The first is the Death card. Death doesn’t mean death of a person. It means changing the way you’re doing and looking at things. The card that jumped out of the deck with Death is The Star. So these cards represent a more beneficial direction. You could be a complete person and have Spirit’s guidance. You could have lots of love–the water in The Star card represents love, and you have become one with it. This is what Spirit is trying to put in your path. But you are too distracted right now to see the true opportunities.
So Spirit must love you very much–whoever this is for–to provide this kind of reading. It’s not bleak. There is hope. Spirit is saying there is hope. But which path you take is going to be your decision. If you give up everything for this pot-of-gold dream, it’ll be a dark path, and it will be up to you to get yourself out of the consequences. If you can catch yourself now, veer away, and balance things, then life could really be limitless.
And that is Spirit’s message for you today. I hope that whoever this was for got something from it. Hopefully these temptations will soon appear less gratifying and keep you from going further down this path.
I hope tomorrow brings a brighter message.
Bye for now.
