Hello Taurus, and welcome back to TenPaths Tarot.
Today I got your oracle card from the Native American deck, and it is The Crow. And the crow is a very clever creature. Do you have a lot of crows where you are? There are a lot around here. And I know they learn from each other, and they teach each other things. There’s a give and take all of the time. There is also a spiritual staff in this card, which is a request for Spirit’s blessing. So you may be on a spiritual or self-awakening path.
Let’s look at your recent past to see where you’re coming from as we move through this reading. And the first card in your recent past is The World, or Psyche. And this shows a woman, and she has butterfly wings. She is transforming out of the goo and muck that the caterpillar became when it went into its pupal stage. And she has become this fabulous creature that can fly (they now know many, many miles and much higher than they ever dreamed).
And so that was what you wanted to attain. But there’s been something that’s been keeping you back just a bit in your recent past. And that’s a tendency to look at things as either/or. Either life is barren and boring, or its magical. In the Two of Scrolls, we have a cross between a unicorn and Pegasus. And so we want more in our life than is possible while we’re here on earth.
Then we move into Tower energy, or Kali energy. So something here shook things up. That’s the nature of The Tower. And Kali also started out as thinking either/or. She had done a lot of work and was the goddess of compassion. And so when some demons came to town, she was not the person you would think would go out there and fight against them–fight in a most uncompassionate manner. But the situation demanded a different side of her. And afterwards, she could no longer see herself as either/or, although she is often now depicted as such. She is depicted as that goddess of compassion and has a completely different name. Or she’s depicted as Kali, the warrior goddess.
And so this tower moment involves looking at things in a different way. And can we do that? There is strength in doing so. And maybe that’s what that tower moment is. We start to realize our own strength in the direction we’re going.
And the last card in your recent past is the Ace of Scrolls, which normally represents clarity of thought. But we have that crow on the top–that prankster crow–and he knows that you may think you know what to do, but there may be other paths more beneficial. Two keys are shown in the corner of the card, so there is more than one door to open.
Hmm. I’m thinking of a crow at my own home. It thought it knew what to do, and taunted a flying hawk, trying to drive it away. But the hawk knocked it to the ground. It fell out of the sky and into the center of a large pond. And we know that crows can’t swim– or can they? You’ll have to stay tuned for the end of the story in order to find out. And so let’s go on with your reading, and I will go back to that story at the end.
And so now we’re going into your current energy. And it is the moon. Now the moon is considered spiritual guidance through the darkness; guidance through the unknown. There’s still a part of us that wants to have The World; to have it be more magical than is possible. In this card, we swim with the body of a dragon. But Spirit is saying, “You can be the horse emerging from the dragon’s body. And I would advise you to get out of the water as soon as possible.”
Then we move into The Hierophant. You do want that spiritual connection. And you can see that in this card. You also want to know the truth. You want to think there’s one truth. The only trouble is, the gentlemen at the bottom of the card may have their own view of what is true. And so this is what your dilemma is–how to work out that middle ground between personal truth and the beliefs of others. We must think about the lessons we’ve learned, and realize they are different than the lessons provided to other people. We’re all given different lessons according to our needs. And when we try to dictate to others what those lessons mean or what they are, that is when we start having trouble.
And so now we get into the card that is Spirit’s recommendation. This is the direction you’re heading if you maintain your current trajectory. And this is a good direction. You have The Star, which is similar to The Moon, but a slightly softer energy. We’re starting to balance things. The figure is surrounded by water, and she has become one with it by becoming a mermaid. You were trying to do that with your dragon-horse persona, but the scale was too grand. And so now you are starting to merge that spiritual side and connect with that universal love–that love that goes beyond what is really possible here on earth–and you’re wanting to pour that love out to other people. You’re going in a fabulous direction, but you can veer off course.
And that is the last card’s caution. It’s not a warning. You don’t have to go in this direction. It’s just saying there may be a tendency at some point to want to veer off and go back to this instability and this looking at things as being either the way I see them–the way I want them–or not at all. And the more you’re reflecting that to other people, that is what’s coming back to you. I have a feeling that if the gentleman fighting others in the card just put down his weaponized wand, all of those around him would put theirs down too. If he smiled and laughed, they would smile and laugh with him. But instead he’s gone into battle mode.
Now let’s say they all start laughing– ha ha, ha ha–and they put their down their wands. All the wands look the same. So when you go to pick up your dream, it may not be what you expected. It may be a different one. That is okay. That takes us back to that energy where there is more than one door to open; and one door leads to another to another. So Spirit does want to guide you in this lesson.
And since we we’ve returned to The Crow oracle card, it’s a perfect time to end that story.
So the crow fell from the sky, and he landed in a pond. And they do not have waterproof feathers, so he is floundering. And the more he flaps… Well, there is a Canada goose standing at the edge of the pond. And it sees this bird doing flapping energetically, which is what they do when they want to fight. And so he jump-flies into the pond, skids to a stop, and starts battering this poor crow, the intent being to drown it.
So I’m seeing this from the other side of the bank, and I yell out to the goose. And these geese are very stubborn, let me tell you; it shocked me when it listened to what I said. And I said, “Enough! He gets the point! Leave him alone!” And the goose did. He got back up on the embankment. He joined his mate and they did their little greeting. But the crow was in still in the middle of the pond and getting so tired.
But believe it or not, the crow swam! With his little wet wings, with his skinny arms, he swam to the bank. He dragged himself out. He didn’t even have the strength to shake out his feathers.
He walks up the embankment, and he’s only a short distance away from that goose. I think he’s going to get it again when the goose steps toward him, and I growl out, “Uhn uhn!” And the goose stops. And they just sit there together in peace.
And the crow’s friends start coming down to check on him. “Are you okay? Are you okay?”
The crow went under the white fence alongside the pond. And so I’m assuming he dried off once out of danger’s way.
But right there, that crow thought it knew how to handle that hawk, and that hawk should do what it wanted. But that hawk had lessons and skills it had to learn, and it had other plans. And when the crow tried to force things, he got knocked right down out of the sky and had to start over.
This reading has some elements that remind me of the reading I did for Gemini. And so you might want to check that out, as it may have additional information for you in it.
And that’s all I have for you today, Taurus.
Bye for now.
