Hello Leo, and welcome back to TenPaths Tarot. My name is Everett, and let’s just jump right in. Your oracle card today was Kokopelli, and he is the god of fertility and music. This is someone who likes to take all of the different notes and combine them into something beautiful and expansive. He is all about growth.
And so let’s look at the first four cards today. We will be reading from right to left on this initial set. And the first card out is the Eight of Spirals, with spirals representing our desires and dreams. And they are raining down upon us. Maybe we have so many that it’s overwhelming. We want to set everything ablaze, but we’re also afraid of that at the same time. The poor deer is running. He’s anticipating a great fire.
Then we have the Ten of Mirrors. This is actually a similar energy; a lot of movement; a lot of action. But now we see those ideas combining and connecting with positive emotion, forming a broad net.
Then we have The Illusionist. Now, this is someone who has practiced their craft over and over again. It’s not easy to put everything together smoothly; so that it looks simple and natural; so that what cannot be looks possible. And that is what we want . Our goal, to be The Illusionist.
And then we have the Death card. But this death card does not look scary. This goddess, Ariadne, she had gave balls of yarn to adventurers seeking to fight the Minotaur, who was half man, half bull. And he lived in a labyrinth, sometimes illustrated as a cave. And the adventurer could string the yarn along so that they could find their way back out of the labyrinth.
Ariadne has a whole bowl of yarn. But there’s a double meaning to yarn. In English, yarn can mean tall tales; tales we tell ourself and tales we tell others. And so she is just holding one. Now, maybe she’s holding on to the true tale out of the lot.
And we see a change here. And the Death card always does indicate a change. We go from wanting to be The Illusionist to approaching life with an youthful, inquisitive outlook, as illustrated in the Seven of Cups. We have all of this loving energy. We have these positive emotions. And now we’re trying to gain knowledge that will allow that youthful side of us to shine.
And when I think of the youthful side, I think of the oracle card. I think of someone who is creative. We also see pencils in the border of the oracle card, indicating creativity. This is someone who likes to write or draw, or play music, or do something else that involves making something from nothing.
And next we have the Eight of Wands. These wands are actually spears. Ow! It’s possible one will stick us from time to time. But one of them will be guided by Spirit. We just keep practicing; doing what we do; being the creator that we are; and Spirit will take one of those efforts and guide them to the right spot; guide them into our heart.
And then what happens? Well, we have that spark in our hearts, and we start having a greater vision. Look at The Hermit. She is envisioning a great city. She feels she is being guided to create this wonderful thing.
And what happens? This sounds like a pretty grand dream.
Well, Spirit is saying, “You are on the right path.” The card that follows is The Emperor. He places his hand on plans for that building. It’s now gone from a dream into the planning stage. It may still have some way to go. But look at his expression. It matches the expression of Kokopelli on the oracle card. These are similar energies here. He no longer doubts his dreams are possible. He has had all of this practice. He has gathered his skills through a very long period of time and a lot of effort, and now his desires begin to materialize.
And so Spirit is telling you, Leo, that whatever it is that you’re thinking about growing, building, or making—it is possible! It is very possible. You have the knowledge set. You have the background. What you need now is to use that youthful energy—that creative spark guided by Spirit—to light a fire in your heart And then it’s just a matter of moving forward.
