Hello Cancer and welcome to TenPaths Tarot. My name is Everett and I’m glad you could join me again.
Today I asked Spirit to give us an Oracle card to set the tone for the reading. What is this reading about? And the card that was drawn is Confidence. And look at this woman on the card. She is holding a speaker’s staff. She is going to speak the truth she feels. She has a lot of experience. You can see that in her face and by the owl sitting on her shoulder.
So the first card that popped out of the deck–and today I was using the Chrysalis Tarot–is Divine Child, or The Hierophant. Now normally the hierophant would represent tradition; tradition that cannot be changed. But here I do not feel that is the case, because we’re talking about the intuitive investigation of a small child. And this child looks at the paint and it touches the paint, and it doesn’t ask you how it feels. It knows how it feels. It looks at the butterflies and will tell you what colors are there and that they’re pretty. And it will watch in fascination at the little frog down in the corner. But it doesn’t ask your opinion about all of these experiences. This child is pulling in experiences and it’s not asking everybody, “Well what do you think about this?”
It is approaching life with the energy of The Fool, of Merlin–that the world is magical. “I trust in Spirit to guide me and I am seeing the magic of everything.” Everything is new and fresh–a new experience. And so all of this builds a knowledge base from which we can gather wisdom. Someone else’s wisdom may not be the same as yours. Spirit is going to give you the experiences you need to grow, not somebody else’s. They may have a different path. They may have different lessons they need to learn.
The next card is The Visionary, or the Knight of Scrolls, with scrolls representing the swords in other decks. They represent our thoughts. So this person is moving ahead with his ideas. And look, there is a myna bird talking to him on his shoulder. The myna bird is very clever. And it can mimic other birds. It can even mimic human speech. And he knows with the information he is getting from this myna bird, this can transform into the grandeur of a peacock. He’s got this new information from that myna bird. He may have to put aside some old beliefs that weren’t backed up by his own experience. There’s always going to be people that tell us how things are. But our experience teaches us, “But it’s not like that,” and we have to go with what we have learned. Those experiences are put in our path. Then we may have to leave behind what we knew and move on. Find a different path.
We may have to be like King Arthur that put down his sword into a stone. Or was it King Arthur that drew it out? Well, in this card, somebody put his sword into a stone. And somebody else can use it in the future, but it wasn’t for this person any more. And this sword is piercing these scrolls, these old thoughts of ours. And look, they were blank anyway. They weren’t leading us anywhere. So we’re putting all those old ideas behind and relying on our own intuition–our own experiences. And we will listen to what other people have to say but, if it’s not ringing true, we don’t have to follow through on acting upon that information.
