Hello Capricorn, and welcome to TenPaths Tarot.
The Three of Cups jumps immediately from the deck, followed by two additional cards.
The Three of Cups usually indicates celebration; also a bit of instability. We are one short of the stable number four, but we’re celebrating because we’ve made forward progress in some way.
There are two dogs in The Moon card, and I feel they represent home, since most homes have a dog or two. In this card, Spirit is guiding us through the unknown; through the darkness. So things may seem a little scary right now, because we’re not sure where we’re going.
Then we have a swords card, which indicates we’re wanting to move beyond past injuries and thoughts that disturb us. We can’t forget these things, but we can move beyond them. And as we progress, Spirit is with us.
Then we have the Nine of Swords. The swords above the woman’s head are things that she can’t stop thinking about. They could be as innocuous as everyday problems, or they could be past injuries that someone has committed against us or we have committed against others; all of the human worries we’ve all experienced. Like the woman shown in the card, we’ve all experienced sleepless nights.
The next card in the set is the Hierophant, which indicates traditional ways of thinking. However, tradition refers to however we were raised, or what we’ve decided is the “right” way. But there are many right ways as long as we’re not hurting someone else or intentionally doing something malicious.
Although there are many right ways to move forward, we may be feeling as though there is only one. And we’re not sure we can meet the perhaps unrealistic standard that we have set for ourselves or that someone else has set for us.
