The first card is the Five of Cups. And there we have a figure who appears to be contemplating whether to leave their cups behind; the cups which represent love, strong emotion, and sometimes bounty. The cups are associated with water, although the background is desert-like, so this person may be feeling that there isn’t much to stick around for. In their mind they see a seahorse, which represents magic, dreams, and potential.
The next card is the Six of Swords. And here we have individuals who want to leave their swords behind. They are looking toward new horizons. In the sky, I see a whale, which represents mysticism, as well as representation of the cosmos. Spirit, which is carved into the boat, appears to be guiding the vessel forward.
The people in this card are headed in a new direction. They take their troubling memories with them, but they are looking beyond them. So this person who wondered whether to stay is now embarking on a new journey.
Next is the Queen of Cups. I’m getting the impression that the dreams in this card have come to fruition and have been around for some time; in fact, they are now starting to fade away. So it looks as though long-term success has followed this effort to leave pain behind and start a new life.
But what happens after the new dreams fade away?
You feel safe again and you’ve left all of the negativity behind, but now the same thing happens again. Here we have the Page of Wands, and he is looking back over his shoulder. This person is stronger now and wears the sign of the lion. They have new dreams that they’re starting to follow. The seahorse, a placid magical energy, is turning into a dragon, a fiery magical energy. This individual has learned from experience and is taking the wand (passion and joy of life) and moving on.
